Championship and All-Star weekend

The weather forecast for the final weekend of games for Eastern Pike Soccer was grim.  Lots of rain on Saturday for the Championship games, and very cold on Sunday for the All-Star Games.  The decision was made to play the games, and a great decision it was.  The rain stopped just about game time for the U-10 Championship and 3rd place games.  Both games were outstanding with the 3rd place game going into overtime with the Gators scoring the only goal of the game with 1 minute left in overtime.
The U-10 Championship game was equally close with the Wolverines winning, again by 1 goal, and the Sooners finishing in Second Place.  Then came the U-13 games.  Chelsea took 3rd place, defeating Arsenal.  Manchester United took the Championship, over Bayern Munich, in the U-13 Championship game.
Awards were presented to the U-10 and U-13 Divisions as well.
Sunday’s forecast proved accurate as it was cold and windy for EPS’s innaugural All-Star Games.  There were two games played on Sunday.
Game one was between the U-10 All-Stars.  Head Coaches were Aldo Leone-Red Team and Jim Ficken-Blue Team.  A great game that ended in a tie.
Following the U-10 game, EPS hosted two contests.  The U-10 contest allowed players to score a goal to win a Soccer Ball.
The U-13 contest was a penalty kick shoot out for a Bicycle.  Kurt O’Leary, playing for Bayern Munich U-13, was the winner.  Congratulations!
Then it was time for the U-13 All-Star Game.  Head Coaches were Dave Krause-Red Team and Eric Falkenburg-Blue Team.  The Red All-Stars won a great and exciting game.
As we close the fall season of Eastern Pike Soccer, we begin the Winter season where EPS will field Seven teams that will play indoor in Scranton.  Ranging from U-10 to U-17.
EPS would like to thank everyone for all they have done this year, so that this could be such a successful season.  We are excited for the future, and look forward to seeing everyone on the fields this Spring.
